Right now it's time to replenish those warm-weather staples that will last the rest of the most poppin’ times of the year. For simple staple items, I don’t love to spend too much because there are so many great options at affordable prices—and I knew H&M was the right one-stop-shop to complete the mission. I found so many updated pieces that look super current but are also simple enough to wear on a daily basis. My picks below range from a vintage-inspired nylon jacket that has been on my wishlist all year, to the most perfect zip-up cardigan that I’ll be wearing with practically everything, and the bolero of my dreams.
Keep scrolling to see how I styled all the H&M pieces and tips on how to reinvent any of them simply by switching up the outfit. You’ll also love to hear that most of these pieces are under $50—I’ve already worn them enough times to rationalize their price. Happy shopping!
1. Nylon Jacket and Bermuda Shorts
Photo:
@banniakabreadSporty chic is the church I subscribe to, and lately the sporty-preppy look has been hitting. I absolutely love the vintage appeal of the nylon jacket and can't wait to wear it all summer paired with these easy breezy Bermuda shorts. The shorts are true to size and the jacket has a slightly baggy fit.

If you're wearing shorts in 2022, they better be bermudas.
I've been searching for a jacket just like this for months. It's perfect.
2. Knit Midi Dress and Mules
Photo:
@banniakabreadThe moment I saw the fabric on this knit dress, I knew she was a winner. It's super stretchy and has a slight sheen to it which makes it look elevated. I will be wearing it mostly with like-minded colors and black accessories.

@banniakabreadYou can see the sheen here, which plays really nicely with my gold jewelry. The sunglasses were another surprising find! The shape is so simple yet unique, plus no one can see you looking at them!
Perfect for a beach vacation.
Hear me out, gold is definitely a primary color and these will elevate any outfit. Gimme.
3. Cardigan worn as a top
Photo:
@banniakabreadCardigans-as-tops are my new favorite thing, and this grey one will go with practically anything. I chose to go with a skirt here, but could also have easily paired it with ripped jeans, black trousers, or even a maxi skirt.
I'm really into wearing cardigans as tops these days, instead of as cardigans.
4. Zipped Cardigan and Rib Knit Pants
Photo:
@banniakabreadGrey marl is such a vibe. This outfit was not one I expected to come together as it did. Don't you love when that happens! The pants are so stretchy and comfortable, and the cardigan jacket literally looks like a piece by The Row. It's that chic and well-made.

@banniakabreadThese sunglasses really pulled together the look. Metal wire sunglasses truly serve as jewelry for the face and make everything look way more expensive than it is.
The sharp shoulders and boxy cut make this such a rare $50 winner. She's at the front of my closet.
These are so stretchy and comfy, oh my. The slit makes them way different than your average tights.
The sleeve detailing makes this staple the opposite of boring.
A top you can wear over and over again. Use the zipper from the bottom to show a little midriff.
These are amazing for both daytime outfits and when you want to go out.
5. Cami and Bolero Jacket
Photo:
@banniakabreadI'm usually not one for cami tops, but this flowy one sealed the deal for me. It's made from a matte fabric that makes it low-key and possible to dress up or down. The bolero is such a bunch to the gut, I love it. Plus, it's super cozy and kept me warm on a 60-degree weather day.
This fabric is built to last, and the cut is roomy but drapes beautifully.
Wear this baby under blazers during the day, and with a mini skirt at night.
Fresh out of ballet class or pilates.
