About
The book that changed my life...
The Hours by Michael Cunningham. I studied this book in high school and it made me fall in love with reading. The film starring Meryl Streep and Julianne Moore is just as compelling if you’re short on time.
The most amazing meal I've ever had...
Melon and prosciutto linguine! My boyfriend and I were in Santorini for our anniversary and stumbled upon a tiny whitewashed restaurant perched on the cliffside in Oia. I took a risk and ordered the strangest thing on the menu (who mixes fruit with pasta?!) and it was the most incredible dish I’ve ever had. I didn’t write down the name of the restaurant so we’re still trying to track it down.
The morning and nighttime routines I swear by...
Morning: My skin is forever dehydrated in New York City so I slather it with Aesop Mandarin Facial Hydrating Cream and add a slick of Lanolips 101 Ointment Multipurpose Superbalm to my lips.
Nighttime: After work, there’s nothing better than burning a rose scented candle (Diptyque is my guilty pleasure) and reading a book on my Kindle (I’m re-reading The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini). I'm also a sucker for great serums and have been roadtesting L.Raphael's Firming Serum.
The best décor hack I've learned...
Use a marble chopping board as a display board on your desk. My workspace is often strewn with paper and products, so I repurposed a Crate & Barrel Marble Pastry Slab ($50) to segment my space. It encourages me to store my notepad, phone, and books on the tray, leaving the rest of my desk clutter-free.
My interior stylist spirit animal is...
Joseph Dirand. His take on French minimalism is second-to-none. Images of his interiors made up 99% of my Pinterest board when I decorated my New York City apartment.
The Instagram handles I follow religiously are...
@graymalin and @chrisburkard for wanderlust, @fromthekitchen to decide what to cook that day, and @kellywearstler for endless design inspiration.
This season, my go-to cocktail order is...
Le Grand Fizz, a mixture of Grey Goose vodka, St Germain, and soda water. I'm also making my way through this three-ingredient cocktail list.
The first lesson I learned as an Adult with a capital A...
I left behind my family, boyfriend, and career to travel the world for six months. The most powerful lesson I learned is that traveling might sound romantic when you’re office-bound, but it won’t feed your soul. Don’t treat a vacation as a way to escape your life. If you use it as an opportunity to find out more about yourself it’ll be the best decision you ever made. It was for me.
The most surprising thing I learned from a MyDomaine story is...
Happy couples fight more. The key to constructive conflict is learning how to fight fair.
