I Work in Fashion, and I Think These Anti-Trend Jeans Will Be In Style Forever

Jeans are life for me. A good pair of denim is kind of like fashion’s own superhero cape—there is no better feeling than slipping into really good denim that fits perfectly—and for me, the simpler in style, the better. At this point, I have pretty much stopped subscribing to denim trends and focus on wearing what feels and looks good for me individually instead. That means investing in anti-trend jean styles that I know will be in style forever.

There are a few, classic shapes that I have floating in rotation on the regular. A high-waisted, ‘90s style is my everyday go-to, while pleat-front, denim trousers are usually my “office” jeans (or what I wear when I want to look a little more polished). Ecru denim is another favorite no matter what season—hello, winter whites!—and you can never go wrong with classic, indigo washes either. Below, find my 5 favorite anti-trend jeans with cute styling ideas to boot.

Bring a little grunge to a polished jean with a roomy aviator jacket.

Great belts are hard to find. This brand always aces it.

The pintuck detail sets this pair apart.

A boot with a little height is necessary for longer length jeans.

501's in ecru. You can't get more classic.

A good transitional boot to take you from winter to spring.

Available in regular, petite, and long inseams!

The perfect cashmere wrap to top it all off.

BOOTCUT

A medium, blue wash will never be passé.

Adding a sporty top gives bootcut denim an entirely new feel.

The ultra high-waist on these are top notch.

Add a little flair with a zebra print accessory.

A tried-and-true classic that will live in your closet for years to come.

There is nothing cooler than denim and leopard print, in my book.

A cropped jean and penny loafers feel classic but not boring.

These are cut specifically for hourglass shapes.

The sunglasses have that certain joie de vivre

The ribcage is another standby style from Levi's.

A cardigan with flair won't ever feel basic.

A little wider in cut but just as cool.

Every closet needs a good, poplin button down.

The contoured waist on these prevents gapping.
