Unless you consider yourself a decisive person, it's safe to assume you've had moments of hesitation. Maybe you've spent hours trying to decide what to wear, or you've spent days searching for the best sandals—whatever the case, coming to a conclusion took time. And while I'll never be one to dismiss the importance of taking a beat, especially before you buy into a buzzy trend, there are some cons to making decisions without considering others' reviews. In all honestly, not everyone has the time, nor the patience, to spend hours sifting through runway images to determine the best spring trends. Add on top of the fact that shopping for the new season can be a stressful endeavor, especially for indecisive people.

So then, what's one to do when they must fast-forward past the research and procrastination to the checkout line? You turn to real-life experts, of course. And who better to advise you, dear reader, than fellow Who What Wear readers? Ahead, you'll hear from 13 women's candid thoughts about which spring trends, hot-weather staples, and viral items are worth shopping for right now. If you were on the fence about skinny pants (or any other trend), consider this your final verdict.

How would you describe your personal style?

My personal style is inspired by the effortlessly cool "model off duty" look from the ‘90s. But I like to add other elements to make it more interesting—e.g., opting for pieces with an oversize fit, a cute pair of shoes, or fun accessories. 

Is there one key staple you swear by to survive spring each year?

Denim is always a good staple for spring, so easy to throw on when you don’t know what to wear. This spring, I want denim everything—from skirts to jackets to dresses to shoes. 

Are there any specific pieces you’re eying for the season? If so, why?

I am looking for the perfect pair of ballet flats, and Maison Margiela’s tabi-toe flats have been on my mind for a while now. I especially like the ballerina version because they would be so cute styled with skirts.

Adopt: Back to basics 

Skip: Skinny pants

Which spring trend are you most interested in for the season? Which one do you think you'll skip? 

I am really excited to go back to basics with good-quality materials after such a long period of really loud dressing. Prints and patterns have never been my thing, so you won't see me in florals or polka dots anytime soon. However, I am excited to integrate flower appliqués into my wardrobe. It's such a fun and easy way to elevate a basic look. Regarding what trends I'll be skipping this season, you won't see me in skinny pants just yet; the looser fits are just too comfortable for me to give up. 

Are there any trends you feel transition well from spring to summer? If so, why? 

I think looser, tailored pants and skirts, styled with a tank top and sandals, will be my go-to pieces because they're comfortable and easily transition from spring to summer.

How would you describe your personal style?

My style is comfortable and chic yet elevated, with staple pieces I can wear repeatedly. 

Is there one key staple you swear by to survive spring each year?

Collared shirts! I live by them during transitional seasons. Spring weather can be unpredictable, and I swear by collared shirts because they are a perfect piece to throw on over a basic tee, tank, or dress. Solid colors or striped shirts, the options are endless. 

Are there any specific pieces you're eying for the season? If so, why?

I'm on the hunt for the perfect pair of slingback kitten heels. I already found vintage Chanel slingback shoes on The RealReal that I am obsessed with. But I also have my eyes on these YSL and Gucci heels. They've been at the top of my wish list to buy, I just haven't done so yet!

Adopt: Ballet flats

Which spring trend are you most interested in for the season? Which one do you think you'll skip?

I am so interested in slingback kitten-heel shoes and ballet flats. It doesn't matter what kind of outfit you're wearing; these two spring footwear trends will be the perfect cherry on top of any look. I bought the Loeffler Randall ballet flats last fall and will wear them on rotation this spring. In terms of what I'll be skipping this season, I think it will be the maxi skirt trend. I love the styles I've seen on social media, but personally, I don't think I can pull them off. 

Are there any trends you feel transition well from spring to summer? If so, why? 

I think basket bags can transition well from spring to summer. They're one of those classic styles that come back every season!

My personal style could be described as chic with a French touch. 

Is there one key staple you swear by to survive spring each year?

I never go out without my linen scarf in spring; it’s not too warm and makes dressing for transitional weather much easier.

Are there any specific pieces you’re eying for the season? If so, why?

Canvas bags feel like such an appropriate spring-to-summer handbag choice. I am so in love with this YSL bag. I love the material and the neutral canvas is versatile enough to match my current wardrobe easily.

Adopt: Nineties necklines 

Skip: Strappy footwear

Which spring trend are you most interested in for the season? Which one do you think you'll skip? 

I am most excited about the return of the '90s necklines in the form of tube tops and dresses. I just feel like it instantly elevates any look and can be worn throughout the summer in France. Regarding what trends I would skip, it's the overly strapped footwear with excessive tie-up straps. It just looks uncomfortable. 

Are there any trends you feel transition well from spring to summer? If so, why? 

I feel like focusing on investing in the basics would be a great way to transition your wardrobe. You can't go wrong with simple linen dresses with luxurious elements, especially for summer nights (can't wait!).

How would you describe your personal style?

My style is defined by mixing statement pieces with staples. I like pairing classic pieces like straight pants or a white T-shirt with trendy outerwear like a moto jacket. I'm also a big fan of the high-low mix. I invest in pieces from high-street brands like Prada, Nanushka, Saint Laurent, and Bottega Veneta and pair them with trendier elements from retailers like Zara. 

Is there one key staple you swear by to survive spring each year?

Oversize blazers are my uniform. I love to style them casually with jeans, a turtleneck, and this season's buzziest shoes. Or I like to dress up an oversize blazer by styling it as a short dress paired with thigh-high boots. 

Lastly, are there any specific pieces you're eying for the season? If so, why? 

I have seen many feather details lately on sweaters, dresses, and cardigans. I love the versatility of this trend. For someone that is not super girly, this is the perfect gateway to add a little glam to every outfit, and I'm going to buy it for the season.

Adopt: Denim on denim 

Skip: Ballet flats 

Which spring trend are you most interested in for the season? Which one do you think you'll skip? 

I love matching separates; I literally die for them. So I'm most excited about the denim-on-denim trend in spring collections. It's a fantastic trend for lazy but sophisticated dressers like me. Whenever I need to look put together at the last minute for an event, I always gravitate towards pieces that are easy to throw on—and what's easier than a matching denim set? Regarding what I'll be skipping this season, I won't buy ballerina flats; it's just not for me. The most important thing to remember regarding trends is how and if they complement your silhouette. I am quite tall but have tiny feet, which in my opinion, makes me look odd in ballerina flats. Furthermore, I usually opt for slightly chunkier shoes or something that doesn't "shrink" my foot compared to my body. 

Are there any trends you feel transition well from spring to summer? If so, why?

I firmly believe in the power of crop tops. You can wear them under your jacket during spring and then by themselves for the summer.

How would you describe your personal style?

I would describe my style as boyish, comfy, and vintage-inspired with doses of glamour. It honestly really depends on the day. I love to treat getting dressed differently every like I'm adapting to a new character. 

Is there one key staple you swear by to survive spring each year?

I don’t think I have one single staple as much as I have three key pieces: oversize blazers, low-rise jeans, and vintage-fitted jackets. 

Are there any specific pieces you’re eying for the season? If so, why? 

I’ve got my eyes on Loewe's raffia tote bag. I feel like it’s the perfect chic beach bag and can be worn throughout the spring and summer.

Adopt: Ombré prints

Skip: Floral prints

Which spring trend are you most interested in for the season? Which one do you think you'll skip? 

I am obsessed with the ombré prints trend we spotted in the spring collections of designers like Courrèges. I love that these prints look like a literal sunset.  And I find them very easy to wear because they fade between colors allowing you to get creative with your styling. The trend I’ll probably skip this season is the floral printed dresses—they’re cute, but I’ll leave it for another time. 

Are there any trends you feel transition well from spring to summer? If so, why?

I would say color transitions well from spring to summer, specifically pink! It’s very bold, feminine, and sexy. Plus, there are so many different shades of pink trending right now that it makes it easier for everyone to style it in a way that’s flattering for them. It’s just the ideal color to make your outfit pop for a night out or bring you joy on a bad day.

How would you describe your personal style?

I'm certainly inclined towards a more minimalist style with a sophisticated touch. But my style is constantly evolving, and runway collections always inspire me. If I were to name specific collections inspiring me right now, it would be Saint Laurent's S/S 23 show and Valentino's F/W 23 collection.

Is there one key staple you swear by to survive spring each year?

An excellent maxi coat always goes a long way. It is forever my staple piece I love to wear to keep my outfits looking polished and effortless.

Are there any specific pieces you're eying for the season?

I love the sheer fabrics we've seen across runway collections—it's one of my favorite trends and at the top of my shopping list. What's great about this trend is that you can opt for a full-out sheer dress or add opaque separates to your outfits to give them a little spice and understated sexiness.

Adopt: Menswear ties

Skip: Knee-length skirts

Which spring trend are you most interested in for the season? Which one do you think you'll skip?

I'd love to adopt many trends and add to my evolving style, but I love how menswear's ties have slowly bubbled up on the runway. A few spring collections featured them, but it was even more prevalent in fall collections. And I'm so excited about this trend because of how Pier Paolo Piccioli has changed the game in their latest Valentino F/W 23 collection. It is fascinating to see how versatile it is to wear a suit with a tie. Regarding the trend I'm skipping, it would be the knee-length skirt trend. Just because I'm a relatively petite girl, so I would not be able to pull it off.

Are there any trends you feel transition well from spring to summer? If so, why? 

The maxi denim skirt trend is back, and I am here for it! I have been seeing it everywhere on social media. It is something where anyone can pull it off and twist it around with their own personal take in any season. It is an excellent piece for transitional weather.

How would you describe your personal style?

I try not to define myself too much regarding my style because it’s constantly evolving. But I always find myself mixing contrasting pieces (a flowy romantic top with baggy jeans, for example). I love vintage shopping and thrifting, so my style is heavily influenced by other decades—like the ‘90s, ‘70s, and ‘00s.

Is there one key staple you swear by to survive spring each year?

When living in Copenhagen, like, I do, the exciting thing about spring is that I’m finally able to put away my winter puffer jacket! I swear by my vintage leather jackets in spring, whether it be my long black one or my shorter, dark brown jacket.

Are there any specific pieces you’re eying for the season? If so, why?

There are many! I’m on the hunt for a bigger bag and looking for the perfect pair of vintage cowboy boots.

Adopt: "Pretty things" aesthetic 

Skip: Skinny pants 

Which spring trend are you most interested in for the season? Which one do you think you'll skip? 

I will definitely adopt the trend of adding romance and sweetness to my wardrobe! I recently watched Daisy Jones & The Six, and ever since, I’ve gravitated towards more feminine, bohemian pieces. I’ve been hunting for a white prairie dress, for example. Something about spring makes me want to dress more romantically than usual! A trend I’m skipping is skinny pants—I’m all about comfort, and they are not comfy!

Are there any trends you feel transition well from spring to summer? If so, why? 

I actually love wearing boots in spring, especially knee-high boots. I think they definitely work in summer as well, with a short dress or even shorts would be cute!

I'm all about creating contrasts and blending minimalistic elements with pops of color and statement accessories. I'm always aiming for those effortlessly chic vibes. 

Is there one key staple you swear by to survive spring each year?

An excellent lightweight blazer is my ultimate spring go-to. I love how well it works with most outfits and can make you feel chic and confident the moment you throw it on.

Are there any specific pieces you're eying for the season? If so, why?

I'm a massive fan of the metallic pieces we've seen trending and am hunting for some to add to my wardrobe this spring. They're the perfect way to spice up a neutral look.

Adopt: Maxi denim skirts

Skip: Motocross aesthetic

Which spring trend are you most interested in for the season? 

I'm excited about so many trends this season, but if I had to pick just one, that would be the maxi denim skirt. There is something about this piece that feels so cool. The denim material is versatile enough to be dressed up or down, and I also love how the maxi length creates the impression of a more imposing, taller figure. I'm not as interested, though, in the motocross trend. The multicolor graphic prints that come with it are not my cup of tea.

Are there any trends you feel transition well from spring to summer? If so, why? 

I feel that crochet knits, slinky dresses, and transparent pieces can transition into summer pretty smoothly. I love that you can adjust them to those chillier spring days with the proper layering and outerwear or wear them as easily over a bikini in the summer.

I would say it is a mix of masculine and feminine with a hint of streetwear. 

Is there one key staple you swear by to survive spring each year?

My white T-shirt! It is such a versatile piece; it can be worn with a skirt and heels for a low-key dinner, or it can be styled with jeans, flats, and a handbag for a casual day look. I always find myself reaching for it if I'm unsure of what to wear.

Are there any specific pieces you’re eying for the season? If so, why?

Magda Butrym is a designer that has been on my radar for the last year.  I feel this brand really resonates with my personal style. Their dresses are very elegant and dainty, and I would pair them with tights for colder spring nights or with sandals in the summer.

Adopt: 3D flowers

Skip: Sheer fabrics

Which spring trend are you most interested in for the season? Which one do you think you'll skip? 

I’m interested in the 3D rosette trend for spring and have already started incorporating it into my outfits. It is such a beautiful way to complete a look and is great for spring and summer occasions. I’ll skip the transparent see-through fabrics. Although beautiful, it's something I'm not comfortable with, but never say never!

Are there any trends you feel transition well from spring to summer? If so, why? 

I really love the voluminous full-skirt trend. Because they're available in many different colors, shapes, lengths, and materials covering all types of weather, it is a great statement piece that elevates anything it is worn with.

How would you describe your personal style?

I would describe my personal style as classic and minimalistic yet flirty and vibrant. I feel my absolute best when what I am wearing feels and looks effortless.

Is there one key staple you swear by to survive spring each year?

The one key staple that I swear by each spring is corset tops or tops with fitted bodices. It is an incredibly versatile style that can be paired with jeans, shorts, skirts… literally anything. It can be dressed up and down for a day or night look. I love how it adds an elevated, effortless feel to any outfit.

Are there any specific pieces you’re eying for the season? If so, why?

I’ve been eyeing some pieces for the coming warmer months. But the piece that’s captured my heart is the Christopher Esber Molded Venus Dress. I can’t stop thinking about it.

Which spring trend are you most interested in for the season? Which one do you think you'll skip? 

The trend I'm most excited to incorporate into my wardrobe this spring season is the ultra-feminine, see-through fabrics we've been seeing everywhere. There are many variations of the trend—various compositions from mesh, sequined knit, crocheted knit, viscose, and chiffon. There is something for everyone to mend to their comfort level and personal style within this trend. I love embracing looking and feeling sexy, empowered, and feminine! On the other hand, the trend I probably won't be adopting this spring would have to be skinny pants. I think I'm very much still in my low-rise, baggy pant era. As much as trends can be fun, new, and exciting, I can't stress the importance of not swaying away from your style just because trends are leaning one way!

Are there any trends you feel transition well from spring to summer? If so, why? 

I think many trends this season can be crossed over in terms of transitioning from spring to summer. As mentioned above, the sheer fabrics trend would transition perfectly into the summer months. But I also think there's been a return to the basics. It's a topic that many young women are beginning to focus on. We've seen a shift in collections and consumers to opt for more high-quality pieces that are versatile. I think it's a huge trend, even if it's not entirely a "trend," you know? Ultimately it's all about opting for those "forever" pieces.

How would you describe your personal style?

I would describe my style as minimal-chic with a sporty edge. I like to keep things pretty simple but love a good statement piece, and for me, that can be a pair of my favorite sneakers, a cute statement bag, or an oversize boxy cropped jacket.

A must-have for me during the springtime is linen! Whether it’s linen pants or a linen button-down, I will wear linen. It’s breathable, effortless, and comfortable!

I love the ultra-sheer pieces right now. I love the idea of styling a sheer top over a cute bralette or tank top.

Skip: Bubble hems

Which spring trend are you most interested in for the season? Which one do you think you'll skip?

I’m most excited about the open-web crochet pieces we saw on the runways because they’re such easy and cute ways to add some texture to an outfit. I’m a fan of the simpler crochet patterns; I think it’s a good way to incorporate them without going over the top. Regarding what I’ll be skipping, it will be the bubble hem trend. I just don’t think it would be very flattering on me personally. Maybe in a mini dress if it’s not too overdone, but overall, I think I’ll pass. 

Are there any trends you feel transition well from spring to summer? If so, why? 

Denim, for sure! I think baggy jeans transition well from spring to summer. They’re pretty airy, and if you style them with a simple tee or tank, some jewelry, and your favorite pair of sunglasses, it’s an effortless look!

How would you describe your personal style?

It’s definitely all about elevated basics with a touch of color. I love simple outfits that can be dressed up or down. I’m also a curvy petite babe, so anything that accentuates my figure in a tasteful and feminine way does the trick.

Is there one key staple you swear by to survive spring each year?

I have a holy trinity: bold-colored outwear, menswear-inspired blazers, and mini bags! The more oversize the jacket and the more mini the bag, the better. My wardrobe is bursting with colored coats, from blue to green, with matching bags. I also love anything with structured shoulder pads and a cinched waist. It really can transform any look.

Are there any specific pieces you’re eying for the season? If so, why?

The Jacquemus Le Panier Soleil bag has me by the shackles. It’s been living in my mind rent-free because it’s versatile—you can style it within the lens of a cute cottagecore type of vibe, or it could be taken on a trip to the French Riveria.

Adopt: Maxi skirts 

Skip: '90s necklines 

Which spring trend are you most interested in for the season? Which one do you think you'll skip? 

I have been obsessing over the maxi skirts. I love how they look great on everyone, no matter how tall, short, curvy, or slim you are. I've also been living for the different types of maxi skirts this season—from denim to linen to satin. I'll be skipping anything with a '90s neckline. As someone who's petite with curves, it can sometimes look heavy (not in a good way) and childlike on my body instead of flattering. 

Are there any trends you feel transition well from spring to summer? If so, why? 

Linen (think: flowy white maxi dresses, wide-leg trousers, button-downs, and co-ords). The material is breathable, so it really does work well in summer. It's simple, stylish, and look's effortless. When I think of linen, I get rich auntie vibes—It's definitely a winner, especially when planning my wardrobe for European destinations like Mallorca or Puglia.

My wardrobe is filled with mostly classic, high-quality vintage pieces. Additionally, I love mixing menswear with delicate and feminine pieces.

Berlin is very cold, so a chunky leather jacket it is. Mixed with a floral or flowy dress, and I’m ready to go.

Which spring trend are you most interested in for the season? Which one do you think you'll skip? 

I'm very drawn to floral prints and the "pretty things" aesthetic. It's just so much fun to wear something that really gets you in the mood for spring and immediately lightens you up when you put it on. Personally, I'll probably skip the motocross trend as it's too short-lived in my eyes. I find it very important to wear and buy items I'll love for a very long time, and this trend isn't it for me. 

Are there any trends you feel transition well from spring to summer? If so, why? 

Of course, floral dresses and tube tops also work perfectly for summer. If you choose light fabrics like silk and cotton, you'll be happy all summer long.
