When it was announced that Blake Lively would be co-hosting the 2022 Met Gala alongside Ryan Reynolds, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Regina King, we were understandably hyped. After all, the Gossip Girl star is responsible for some of the annual event's most iconic and memorable red carpet looks. (Who can forget that ultra-lavish gold-and-red Versace gown she wore to the 2018 Met Gala?) And as per her usual modus operandi, Lively didn't disappoint.
Just as she did in 2018, Lively called on designer Donatella Versace to create her Gilded Age–inspired look for tonight's event, which features a copper, bow-embellished train and a matching gown, decorated with mirror-like geometric shapes made to look like NYC's Empire State Building. Oddly enough, though, it wasn't the extravagant aspects of the co-host's ensemble that had us zooming into every Getty photo of her and Reynolds on the red carpet but rather the easy add-on she accessorized with.
In addition to a legit crown—which features seven spikes representing the seven on the Statue of Liberty—Lively slipped on a pair of elbow-length, satin gloves that look surprisingly similar to the ones that all of our fashion editors bought in at least one color this year. The only difference? Lively's are custom Versace, while ours were $12 on Amazon. Even better, they'll arrive on your doorstep in 48 hours or less.
