8 Trends From the Chanel Show That'll Majorly Influence 2019

You can always count on Karl Lagerfeld to come up with the creative way in the business to showcase any given season's collection. In fact, the set can almost even overshadow the clothing sometimes, but that was not the case this morning when Lagerfeld debuted the Chanel S/S 19 collection, even though it was one of his most elaborate sets to date. Lagerfeld transformed the Grand Palais into #ChanelByTheSea, complete with a sandy beach, crashing waves, and an army of barefoot models in the chicest version of carefree beach clothes imaginable. 

Lagerfeld favorites like Kaia Gerber and Adwoa Aboah walked the "beach" wearing pieces best suited for a sophisticated, chic Parisian girl on vacation along the French Riviera. Among the 82(!) looks were eight things we predict will surely influence which trends will be hits in 2019. Many of the models wore double Chanel flap bags attached by a harness. While it may be a little impractical to be coined the new belt bag, we don't think there's such a thing as too many Chanel bags.

Oversize, structured blazers are a trend this fall, but thanks to Lagerfeld's approval, we predict that designers will continue to play with new, even more oversize blazer proportions in 2019.

Many of the Chanel logo belts that fashion girls wear are vintage, but there's a fresh new crop to invest in for S/S 19, including this '80s-inspired one worn by Kaia Gerber.

In lieu of wearing the newest Chanel shoes, models carried them in their hands, and we couldn't help but notice that most of them were of the PVC variety.

Yellow was hands down the biggest color trend on the S/S 19 runways. Lagerfeld's version was decidedly more pastel than most, and we fully expect to see stylish women embracing it once April rolls around.

Tons of designers included cycling shorts in their S/S 19 collections, and now, we can end that sentence with "even Chanel."

Denim obviously isn't new, but Lagerfeld reimagined how to style it, opting for surprising looks made up of jeans and classic Chanel touches like pearls and lace.

Regardless of what the weather forecast says, pretty raincoats are something we predict the fashion crowd with wear with everything from denim to swimwear to dresses.
