I Finally Found the Best Mid-Length Denim Shorts After a Years-Long Search

Living in the South, I wear denim shorts a lot. (More than I probably should, but summer is long and hot.) Needless to say, my search for the best denim shorts has been years in the making and exhaustive. Well, I'm happy to finally say that in April of the year 2018, I met my denim shorts match.

My typical complaints with the summer wardrobe staple are that they're constantly riding up, they're too short, they're too tight, the denim creases too easily, they're stiff and uncomfortable… The list goes on. Then I met Agolde, the '90s denim brand that was revived by Citizens of Humanity and basically makes perfect versions of every style that's cool right now. I first came across the label's Dee shorts in Marble on Shopbop and was pleased to see that they feature a longer-than-average 3.5" inseam. They also have a flattering ultra-high rise and are 100% cotton but not nearly as stiff as you'd expect them to be. I can also confirm that the fit is perfectly true to size.

The shorts are now pretty much wiped out after Shopbop's friends and family sale, but they're fully stocked for summer on several other sites. And if you're more into a lower rise and shorter inseam pair, they have the perfect versions of those too. Shop my new favorite shorts below. You're welcome.
