Kim Kardashian's Makeup Artist Uses This Blush Technique to Fake a Rested Look

When it comes to clever makeup hacks, no one has more tricks up their sleeve than celebrity makeup artist and Makeup by Mario founder Mario Dedivanovic. It's no surprise—after all, there's a reason he's Kim Kardashian's longtime makeup artist. Dedivanovic knows every possible way to highlight, contour, and sculpt in the book.

In 2021, Dedanovic's "lip lift" lip liner technique went viral. It creates the illusion of fuller lips by slightly overlining the cupid's bow and the center of the bottom lip. It's a natural way to make your lips look more plump, sans filler.

Now, Dedanovic is back with another makeup hack that's sure to go viral. Dedanovic just launched the Makeup by Mario SoftPop Plumping Blush Veil. The blush is a sheer, illuminating formula packed with hyaluronic acid to hydrate skin while it adds a pop of color.

The formula of the new blush is absolutely dreamy, but it's Dedivanovic's placement that's truly revolutionary. To start, Dedivanovic recommends patting the blush onto the apples of your cheeks and blending it up and into your hairline to give your face a more lifted appearance. To ensure your blush looks even, it's recommended to stipple your blush on instead of swiping it. After you've blended the blush on your cheeks, take the brush you're using and add any leftover product to your forehead, nose, and chin to add some color to the high points of your face.

This is where things start to get really interesting. Instead of stopping there, apply more blush to where your cheeks meet your under-eye area. This will help disguise dark circles and make you look wide awake in a pinch—even if you're running on fumes.

Dedivanovic's new blush comes in six universally flattering shades. "My new blush veil is a modern take on cream blush," he shared in a press release. "This luminous and sheer formula melts onto the skin for a stunning, transparent veil of color that allows your natural complexion to shine through." Keep reading to see every ethereal shade.
