Here’s your first piece of career advice: Never turn down a good networking opportunity, be it in a professional setting or over rooftop cocktails (especially if it’s over rooftop cocktails). Actual face time with fellow savvy creatives is a constant source of inspiration for us here at Who What Wear, which is why we couldn’t be more excited to announce our involvement in Simply L.A. The upcoming conference is designed so influencers and digital marketers can rub shoulders, make connections, and get the tools to succeed in the fashion and beauty industries.

Prepare for an onslaught of super-valuable insights from some seriously cool friends of ours: Among the slew of top talent on the schedule, you’ll hear from our own Michelle Plantan, executive director of creative strategy and one of the most brilliant, funny, meme-loving people on record. Not only does she constantly turn up in the coolest vintage finds (I mean, really), but she also happens to know more about social media than anyone we know. You won’t want to miss the panel she’s moderating.

You’re also in for a treat if you come by for Rachel Zeilic’s panel on influencer campaigns—Rach is our associate VP of talent as well as being the mastermind behind the brand Majorelle at Revolve, and she comes complete with a super-cheeky Australian accent. She was just profiled on Forbes.com, has a law degree she doesn’t use, and is friends with just about everyone worth knowing in the biz (just check out her IG if you care to know what went on at Chiara Ferragni’s bachelorette party in Ibiza).

Presented in partnership with OGX, LUNA, and Totalee, Simply L.A. will take place August 11 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at The Americana at Brand in Glendale. (Oh, and did we mention that actress Kat Graham—she of Vampire Diaries and Parent Trap fame—is delivering the keynote?) Visit the Simply Inc. website for more details, and then get yourself signed up. Oh, and something special for Who What Wear readers (shhh!): Use the code WHOWHATWEAR for a $50 discount when you get registered.
