I Just Did a Closet Clean Out—Shop 24 Under-$100 Basics Replacing My Giveaways

I finally faced it: a real-life spring closet clean out. And let me tell you, it was a process (albeit a very rewarding one). Another huge plus was making room for fresh basic pieces that I feel excited about. 

Although I am excited to start shopping for some shiny, new pieces, I don't want to spend too much. That being said, I started the hunt for the perfect six basic pieces for all under $100 and was very impressed with my findings. Enough to share them with you. In the list below, I've rounded up the top button-downs, jeans, shoulder bags, trousers, sneakers, and T-shirts at affordable prices. 

The button-down is my hero piece. Whether in light blue, white, blue stripes, or almost any hue, the button-down is so versatile for layering year-round.

Jeans are an obvious must-have piece. Refreshing your denim drawer is an amazing investment and has the power to update so many items in your closet.

A mid-size shoulder bag is the best investment. Black-and-white versions guarantee this will become your everyday bag.

Wide-leg trousers are the chicest work and play pants. Elevate them for the evening with an embellished top and a pair of pointy pumps.

Simple, classic sneakers are versatile and comfortable. Choose a timeless pair with neutral tones so they match everything.

A high-quality T-shirt is one of my favorite closet additions. They can get worn so easily so a fresh, crisp T-shirt is always a worthy buy.
