I Have 6 Weddings on My Calendar This Season—This Is What I'm Buying

I just went to my first wedding of the year and have five more coming up—if that’s not proof that we’re in peak wedding season, I don’t know what is. While I love an opportunity to dress up (okay, and an excuse to shop), my bank account is decidedly less thrilled about the prospect. Like almost everyone else on the planet, I wish I could afford a new outfit for every occasion on my calendar, but the truth of the matter is: I can’t. (Well, I guess I could, but I’m not looking to go into serious debt—sorry, my internal monologue is really acting up today.) What I can do, however, is scoop up a few new incredibly satisfying beauty buys. So what am I currently eyeing for the season ahead? For starters, the following must-haves, all avaialble at Walmart

The majority of summer weddings are held outside, meaning you 100% need to wear a primer. This oil-free formula is 60% water-based and has oil absorbers that’ll give your complexion a smooth matte finish. It also helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and pores with light diffusers, and vitamin C peptides help even skin tone over time.

I love that the colors in this eye palette are a bit moody and a mix of matte and shimmery options. Even though they're a bit darker, they're still natural-looking, offering up plenty of mixing and matching opportunities. You can honestly use this for every single wedding on the calendar without wearing the same look twice (unless you want to, of course).

No matter the season, when you’re at a wedding, you need a waterproof mascara formula, and this is one of our favorites. It’s all about the soft, wavy brush that has 200+ bristles. It coats every single lash and gives each one a serious curl. I’m telling you—it’ll give you the lash length of your dreams.

The secret to getting a perfect lit-from-within glow is to add a little bit of this to your face makeup. It hydrates and luminizes skin giving it a subtle, healthy radiant glow. Serious compliments incoming!

The last thing you want is a dry, flaky pout to finish off your wedding look. That’s why I love a good lip plumper, especially when it multitasks and isn’t sticky. This one not only nourishes lips (and smooths ’em over time), but the lightweight formula boosts collagen production and seals in moisture with hyaluronic acid.

When you’re outside for a wedding, there’s a good chance you’ll start to sweat if it gets hot enough. (Don’t worry, we’ve all been there.) That’s why you most definitely need a fragrance like Daisy that can get you through anything. It has a unique mix of red berries, jasmine, and driftwood that honestly just smells really good. Plain and simple.

I rarely use hot tools—I tend to save them for special occasions like weddings—so when I do, I like to use some sort of protective spray beforehand. I love that this is lightweight and also texture-enhancing which will make my final ’do look healthy and full.

My go-to hairstyle for weddings is to enhance my natural texture by adding a few curls throughout. I usually stick to a wand, but I’ve heard great things about this tool and figure now’s the time to give it a try. Apparently it curls hair by drawing it into the heated curl chamber, where it holds the strand for a few seconds and releases it once it’s done. There’s no way to mess it up, which is a total relief for this gal who is totally useless when it comes to hair.
