There's no doubt about it: Sweatpants were one of the defining mainstays of 2021. Yep, sweatpant outfits are practically eclipsing other wardrobe basics among the fashion set. They are equal parts comfortable and cool, so it's easy to see why they're sticking around in our day-to-day lives. Much like the suiting trends that have emerged recently—where bigger proportions and looser silhouettes have been winning out over body-skimming shapes—athleisure has been growing more relaxed and pajama-like with jogger silhouettes replacing formfitting leggings.
