I'm always looking for an excuse to stock up on cozy items, and Thanksgiving inspires a mini shopping spree for me. It's an excuse to buy a new sweater, this season's rendition of cozy Uggs, and maybe an accessory or two. Thanksgiving is the kind of weekend where I squeeze it all into a carry-on, so "fewer, better things" is the mantra. If you're wondering what I'm packing this year, allow me to indulge you.

The best items in my closet are the ones that are extremely comfortable while still looking dressed up. I imagine myself on Thanksgiving Day wearing a cozy sweaterdress that looks like a fashion statement but feels like wearing a blanket. Below, I've curated a list of items that fall into that category. Enjoy.

When I'm being forced to leave my cozy attire behind, I'll slip into an easy knit dress.

Gold jewelry is the accessory that can make a casual outfit feel more elevated when the turkey is served.

This is the time of year when I invest in very good scarves.

I'll be layering this T-shirt in many, many ways.

I just got these jeans, and they look so cool in person.

You'll want shoes you can slip off easily during the festivities.

Another item in my personal closet, this jacket is comfortable and chic. I styled it with a miniskirt and got so many compliments.

The gold detailing on this belt is everything.

I would have thought this jacket was designer.

This might be the perfect sweater to wear on Thanksgiving Day.

I immediately added these to my cart, just in case.

Off-the-shoulder pieces are always a vibe.

A Canadian tuxedo is always a good idea.

This pair of boots is perfect for fall.

I love a bodysuit that keeps me warm.
