On July 5, a real who's-who of the American hair and makeup industries gathered in Prague to celebrate the wedding of one of their own—celebrity hairstylist Sunnie Brook. The L.A.-based hair guru (whose celebrity clients include Elisabeth Moss, Allison Williams, and the Hemsworth brothers) wed her husband while wearing a Carolina Herrera gown, Valentino shoes, and a Chloé bag, later slipping into a formfitting Pnina Tornai dress to cut a rug at the reception.
As for her makeup look, Brook donned a smoky eye, glowy skin, and a rosy lip, and she wore her hair in long, voluminous waves to the ceremony before pinning it into a gorgeous updo accessorized by a custom hair piece she fashioned herself to end the night. We got exclusive access to Brook's wedding beauty routine—a behind-the-scenes look at how she achieved her dreamy European vibe. Keep scrolling to see how she executed her look, from skin prep to makeup to hair.

The aim for Brook's skin was pretty simple: to look fresh, hydrated, awake, and not at all like she'd just traveled 15 hours from Los Angeles to Prague. She achieved this with just three all-natural products. First, she applied Skyn Iceland's peptide- and antioxidant-rich Hydrp Cool Firming Eye Gels to her under-eye area, leaving them on for 10 minutes. Then she intensely moisturized her skin with Epicuren's Ultra Rose Treatment Moisturizer, which is loaded with plant-based goodies like collagen, amino acids, and rose extract. She followed up with Epicuren's Moisture Surge Hyaluronic Acid Gel to seal in that moisture all night long.

Some people are red-lip brides; some people are no-makeup makeup brides. Brook was a sultry-yet-simple smoky-eye bride.

Brook did her own makeup for the big day. The look was fairly simple to put together: She kept the skin glowy and fresh with Kosas's Tinted Face Oil in shade 4. For concealer, YSL's brightening Touche Eclat. She kept her cheek color understated with a wash of Becca's Shimmering Skin Perfector.

Though Brook's smoky eye looks complex, it's just a layering of shades from Dior's 5 Couleurs Palette in Golden Flower (no longer available, though the Undress palette is similar). She focused the darker shades on the outside of her lid, extending beyond the lid in a cat-eye shape, placing lighter shades toward the inner corner, blending with a transitional shade in the center of the lid.
She also applied some of the dark shade right under her eye close to the lash line, extending about halfway in. She applied a shimmery white shade right at the inner corner for a brightening effect. Brook filled in her brows lightly with Dior's Diorshow Brow Styler, a skinny precise pencil. For lips, she applied MAC lip liner all over her lips to guarantee maximum staying power and then placed Tom Ford's warm pink Indian Rose lipstick on top.

Brook's ceremony hair was inspired by the architecture of St. Thomas Church. "Because it was so ornate and grand, I chose to wear a classic modern wave that was brushed out for softness," she says.

To make sure her day was as relaxing as it could be, Brook opted not to do her own hair. Instead, she left that to NYC stylist Jackie Seabrook, a master of long soft waves.

Brook prepped her hair with Biolage's Hydrasource Moisture Mask so it'd look extra shiny and soft. Then, Tigi's Bed Head Superstar Queen for a Day was applied throughout her hair to add major volume. Jackie blew Brook's hair dry with a T3 blowdryer and used T3's Twirl Trio (the 1 1/2-inch wand) to create those big waves; she then brushed them out to soften. She locked the style in place with Kerastase's Laque Couture Hairspray.

Since Brook had a full costume change for the reception, she made a few tweaks to her beauty look as well. "The party was set on the river in the center of Prague," she tells us. "When I first saw it at night, the lights reflected on the water beautifully and inspired the 'black-tie bling' attire." To play up this theme, she created a beaded accessory that she twisted into her updo to give it sparkle and dimension.

For makeup, Brook quickly added Lemonhead sequins to her lids to make her face party-ready.
