I'm an F1-Obsessed Fashion Editor—Here's Everything I Wore to the Miami GP

Call it excitement or the fact I attended a press conference for Puma and Formula One, but I chose to wear my most dressed-up outfit on the first day of my trip. It was a sunny and sweltering 86-degree day, making it perfect for this strapless top–and–skirt set I just got from Reformation. The linen is super lightweight and breathable, and the lack of straps made tan lines a thing of the past. Heels might seem a bit extra for a race track, but these satin mules from BY FAR are practically walking shoes at this point. Not only do I wear them all around New York City without issue, but I packed them as my only walking shoes for a week-long trip to Zurich and Berlin. Plus, I had to go with closed-toe shoes since we were in the F1 garages, and they don't allow sandals of any kind.

After navigating a fair bit of traffic getting out of the track, we headed back to the Arlo Hotel in Wynwood for a quick outfit change. I got this gold minidress from Khaite at a sample sale in the fall and haven't yet had a chance to wear it, so I was all too excited to finally debut it. I threw back on my BY FAR heels—no pain even after more than 15,000 steps—and my go-to Prada 1995 Re-Edition bag before heading out to the Miami Design District for in-store events celebrating Loro Piana, Berluti, Alpine F1 team, and Lewis Hamilton's clothing brand +44. From there, we headed to Sexy Fish for Puma's media dinner and then to Puma's Miami Grand Prix celebration.

I got up early the next day to head back to the track to tour Alfa Romeo's garage, something I never thought I'd ever be able to say. (It was incredible.) Since Scuderia Ferrari, my favorite team, is famously Italian, I dressed in the country's. I started with a red Haus Label bodysuit, a white rib-knit midi skirt from Aya Muse that ties up one side, and a green Prada Supernova bag. Again, my BY FAR heels were an obvious choice. 

This bodysuit is made of a swimsuit-like material and was the perfect choice for day two as our Grandstand seats, where we spent much of the day, were directly in the sun. The only packing mistake I made all day was not bringing along sunscreen for reapplication, something I certainly didn't forget the next day.

After two days in heels, I finally swapped them for a more practical pair of sneakers on day three. I paired my go-to Adidas Sambas with a matching halter top and linen pants that I just got from Zara. This ended up being the perfect easy and chic outfit for the day as it was comfortable, lightweight, and elevated. Again, my green Prada bag came with me, packed with an extra water bottle and lots of SPF. Hint: Don't risk bringing in a purse larger than the bag allowance. Luckily, I was able to convince security to let me enter the track with my bag, but I could have just as easily been sent back to my hotel to find something smaller or made of clear plastic.
