That's right—we're over it. None of us are strangers to those pieces in our closets that used to get daily wear but have since fizzled out. Today is the day we finally say goodbye. Whether or not your New Year's resolutions included a closet clean-out, we can all benefit from one. Especially in winter, our closets are bursting at the seams, so we're right there with you. When so many great budget-friendly finds are around, it's easy to replace yesterday's favorites with new pieces that you'll love and keep in your closet rotation for many years to come.

If you're lost at where to begin, don't worry. We've been there, and the WWW editors present to you a few great places to start. Whether it's finally saying goodbye to logomania or getting rid of that sweater that's seen way too many days, the perfect replacement awaits you below.

Skipping: Logo Prints

Adopting: Art-Inspired Prints

"While one of the most viral print trends of the season thus far is shaping up to be logo-adorned pieces, for my 2022 wardrobe, I'm only going to invest in prints that don't feel too trendy. Something like this tie-dye, art-inspired print is more up my alley, as it's such a chic way to inject print into my wardrobe and is way easier to style. What I love about this dress, besides the fact that it looks like an expensive painting, is that it's so cozy. I thew on a belt to tighten it a bit and added my fun Kat Maconie statement boots, but I have a feeling I'm going to be finding so many ways to style this dress long into the spring."

Skipping: Sherpa Jackets

Adopting: Quilted Jackets

"As much as I saw the style on other fashion people, I didn't buy any sherpa outerwear this year. As an L.A. resident, I just found that I really just don't need that heavy of a fabric!

"Now, don't get it twisted—L.A. does get semi-cold, and layers are definitely necessary. I've been opting for the quilted jackets that have been bubbling up because they're usually more lightweight and make your outfit feel so on-trend with barely any effort. And this one is absolute perfection. The puffer material, the length, the color… It doesn't get better than this!"

Skipping: Overly Poofy Dresses

Adopting: Sleek Silhouettes

"This year, I'm steering clear of the poofy dresses that once took up 90% of the space on my Instagram collections page. Instead, I'm investing in ribbed-knit dresses that are both comfortable and sophisticated. Bonus points if they feature some standout details, like a big cutout or a built-in belt."

If you don't have a dress like this in your closet, you're missing out.

Skipping: Anything Boring

Adopting: Surprisingly, Peplum

"I really thought that peplum was the trend we were never coming back to, but the 2022 update on the cringey 2000s trend is actually more than redeemable. A subtle extra pop at the bottom of a dress or top can add an extra touch of femininity and character to any piece."

"This dress has me ready to book my next trip."

We have a few more trends worth skipping up our sleeve, so read on:

Skipping: Pilling Sweaters (Just toss them!)

Adopting: Après-Ski Anything

You are likely guilty of holding onto that favorite sweater for just a little bit too long. We all do it. If your collection is in need of a revamp, why not try tapping into the classic aesthetic of a fabulous ski trip? It is winter after all. If you're in a warmer climate, it's the perfect way to make your wardrobe feel more seasonal.

If you're more of a neutral girl, this one is for you.

Skipping: Overworn Jeans

Adopting: Leather Pants

The favorite jeans-and-a-classic-sweater look has been on repeat, and it's good. But when you naturally tire of it, just switch into leather pants. This wide-leg pair has a jogger waistband, so you'll be even more comfortable than you are in those Levi's.

We have a huge crush on wide-leg pants at the moment.

Skipping: Plain White Tees (Why not have more fun?)

Adopting: Polos

Don't get us wrong. We love our classic tees. But choosing a top that has a little more to offer really takes a look to the next level. This ribbed polo simply does it for us.

Skipping: Skintight Pants

Adopting: Wide-leg, Baggy Trousers

This is a "no skinny-jean shaming" zone, so we'll try and hold it in! But guys, wide-leg pants are just so much better. Just take one look at how effortlessly chic these pants are styled for a winter's day spent indoors. Sign us up.

There's just something about how belted trousers cinch the waist.

This is a perfect addition to your collection of workwear staples.

Skipping: Sleeping in a College T-Shirt

Adopting: Elevated Lounge-Worthy Sets

If you've ever slept in a silk matching set one night and then that raggedy old T-shirt on another, we're sure you can relate to this statement we're about to make. It can seriously make all the difference about how you feel when you wake up and start moving about. That first cup of coffee is transformed. It's so good that we're also dressing this set up for going out and about.

Pj pants that work both in and out of the bedroom are a must.

We love when these pants are paired with a solid-color knit.
