As if Zara wasn’t already exciting us enough already by the recently-launched Australian website, the brand’s just given us another reason to shop its trendy styles. Beginning on April 12, shoppers will be able to shop Zara in “augmented reality”. Sound futuristic? It is.

Via the app “ZaraAR”, shoppers will be able to see the brand’s clothing worn by models on their phone screen. When positioned at certain locations in store, or over e-commerce boxes, the collections will come to life, showing what the outfits look like in movement without the effort of trying on. So 2018. From there, shoppers will be able to purchase whatever items they see on the screen, either online within the app or in-store.

As fashion becomes increasingly interrupted by the internet, either via online shopping or influencer Instagrams replacing high-gloss magazine spreads, we aren’t surprised to see brands like Zara trying to embrace technology more than ever. It will be interesting to see how the app actually works out or if it changes the Zara shopping experience in any significant way. Only time will tell, and we’ll be sure to inform you when it does. For now, we will all be sitting tight waiting to download the app within the next few days. In the meantime, here are some of our favourite latest styles to fuel your Zara addiction before the app is released.
